Partner Program Grants
Partner Program Grants are provided annually to meet the health and human service needs of our area. In 2007, Upper Valley United Way (UVUW) provided approximately $ 665,000 in Partner Program Grants to local nonprofits, providing critical funding to 82 programs in the community.
How Grant Proposals Are Reviewed:
Community members volunteer to serve on UVUW's Grant Review Committee, which is composed of multiple Grant Review Teams. Applications are reviewed to assess the appropriateness of the program and the financial status of the organization.
Volunteers are trained to review these organizations, which they do when teams of volunteers visit program sites. This enables UVUW volunteers to obtain a direct "ground level" perspective on the effectiveness of programs and to determine how well a program matches the UVUW funding priorities. The committee determines the final funding allocations, which are subject to approval by the UVUW Board of Directors.
Combing a structured process with community involvement ensures that United Way funds are distributed with efficiency and accountability, and still have a meaningful and measurable positive impacts on the towns we serve.
The next application cycle for Partner Program Grants will begin on December 8, 2007.
Letters of Intent to Apply will be due on Dec 31.
