What We Do

We are leading the way to a better community for all of us.  For over 35 years, Upper Valley United Way has helped to meet the health and human service needs of our area.  Guided by periodic community needs assessments, the United Way has responded to many pressing social problems.

Now we are teaming up with community members to focus on the long lasting solutions to these problems.

In order to meet this challenge and be an effective agent for change, Upper Valley United Way has added Community Impact to its change strategies.  Now Upper Valley United Way, not only helps provide funding for valuable services, but also acts as a leader and facilitator in addressing key issues.

There are no quick fixes to complex problems.  To make progress, we need teamwork. Getting people to work together doesn't just happen.  It take time, effort, resources and experience.

Under the Community Impact Model, UVUW develops and participates in groundbreaking partnerships which bring together business leaders, health care and social services providers, educators, community leaders and others around issues of common concern.  By sharing information and agreeing on a common plan of action these groups can create lasting change.

This proactive approach ensures that Upper Valley United Way will continue to serve the community and that it will have an even greater impact.

Together, we get results no one could accomplish alone.
That's the United Way.
