Boys & Girls Club of White River Valley

Helped create a local presence for this national organization by preparing for an afterschool program
at the Hartford, VT Middle School.   Funds went  
 towards program planning & materials development and purchase of supplies & equipment.

Early Childhood Mental Health Network

A planning grant for a Family Resource Center.  This alliance of area service providers identified key tenants for the proposed resource center and quantified their space needs.  New construction was determined to be the preferred option.  Potential sites and funding sources are being explored.

Headrest, Inc.

Staffing to increase community outreach around substance abuse.  Counselors targetted hard-to-reach populations, including juveniles, seniors, inmates, and the homeless.   Counselors provided services in the Grafton County Jail and the Lebanon Junior High School.  Outreach was extended to senior centers and homeless service agencies.

Second Growth

Supported development of a regional peer leadership program that brought teens from neighboring towns together around shared concerns. 
Activities included  panel discussions, conferences, dialogue nights, and a weekly support group.

Windsor County Court Diversion

Creation of a court diversion program for Lebanon, NH so that juveniles caught shoplifting would have to face appropriate consequences but would not be branded with a criminal record.   This program is a collaboration with the Lebanon Police Department.  A facilitator was hired and hearing boards are actively resolving cases.

Grafton County Senior Citizens Council

A disaster plan covering the all of the Council's sites so that vulnerable seniors are assured of access to food, water,  communication, and safe shelter.  Emergency response protocols are now in place for both internal and external crises and the fire alarm at the Upper Valley Senior Center has been upgraded with donated labor.  Shelf-stable suppplies have been acquired for weather emergencies, as have infection control supplies for the possibility of a pandemic.

Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of VT/NH

Development of a resource kit for the adult children of aging parents to guide decision-making around medical, legal, financial, safety, & family issues.  Resource kits were made available at a free community event called "Caring for Mom & Dad", which was repeated on different evenings in four different towns to maximize attendance. 
Nearly 200 individuals participated and participants provided enthusiastic feedback regarding the value of this event.
