How We Do It
A successful approach to building a stronger community for all of us who live and work in the Upper Valley includes three interdependent strategies:
Smarter investments through fundraising and grant making: UVUW has a long history of supporting non-profit client service agencies through monetary grants. We continue to do so by investing in those organizations that work best.
Collaborative initiatives: Recognizing that no one organization can solve our community's most serious problems, UVUW has become a leading force for creating partnerships and coalitions that bring together community members, businesses, service agencies and donors to develop proactive and innovative approaches. In addition, we are actively participating in many collaborative initiatives throughout the Upper Valley.
Needs Assessment and Public Education: Understanding the needs and assets in the community helps us work to identify the communities issues and access the resources needed to address them. To achieve real results on our priority issues requires outreach and education to raise public awareness and stimulate advocacy.
