Kids Ideas for Community Impact


We asked area children to share with us their ideas for creating a better community.  Their ideas were creative and heartfelt.

Supporting Aging Populations
How can Upper Valley United Way help the senior citizens in our community?

"They could have more choices for retirement age.  Or more jobs to do if they still want to work."  Abbey, 8th grader

"Save money for motorized wheelchairs"  Alex, 6th grader

"They can help by giving.  Every senior citizen should have a person to come to their house every week to check on them."  Heather, Enfield

"Help with home repairs, transportation to appointments, shopping, etc."  Lukus, 2nd grader

"Help them to get to the doctor and visit them so they don't be lonely.  Bring them presents."  Alexandra, 2nd grader

"What you can do is put up donations to make money for another DART so if there is an emergency and they need help quick in two places, it would help to have two."  Jason, 7th grader

"They could do a fundraiser and give it to a place that is like a hotel for kids."  Kyle, 5th grader
